Perfect World PvP Guide

First thing's first, you have to pick a class, and it is a matter of player preference. There is no best class, but the style you like to play will probably affect what class you want to pick.

Archers or Mage: Like to dish out damage fast while suffering low defense / hp? You might be interested in these classes.

Cleric: Archer just doesn't cut it for you? How about the cleric? Clerics have a lot of mp, they drain their mp quickly, have buffs that everyone wants.

If you wear light armor, you have lower attack but much higher defense.
If you wear arcane armor, you have higher attack, but lower physical defense.

Venomancer: If you are a more laid back person and like to send your pet and spam some magic behind your pet. This is it for you. Most people on PvP servers go with light armor so they don't get 2 shot by archers.

Barbarian or Blademaster: Finally, Blademasters and Barbarians are the close up fighters. Generally speaking the Blademaster will have higher attack and the Barbarian will have higher physical defense AND hp.

Whew, after you have finally decided which class is the most suitable for you (I know it was difficult) let's get down to the guide.

Builds

Archers:
Pure dex unfortunately is the way to go. I have made the mistake of putting some points into magic and vitality at lower levels and I regret it. Every level, no questions asked: 1 str and 4 dex.
Wear light armor and socket hp gems. It is the best way to go period.

Mages:
I would say 9 magic and 1 str every two levels so that you can wear your robes without sacrificing your nuking power. If you put points into other categories it will hurt your nuking power in the long run. Being a mage your job is to dish the damage not to tank.

Clerics:
Same as mages.

Venomancer:
Uhh...I put 9 magic and 1 str every two levels just like mages and clerics so that your pet will do physical damage while you do the magic damage behind it. ;) Really it's up to you, light or arcane.

Blademasters and Barbarians:
I don't have much experience with these classes lol. Leave some comments below and I will add more.

PK (Player Killing):
Steps:

1. Get a party (no questions asked) -- awww you're noob and can't kill someone yourself...is what most people might say, but I can't tell you how many benefits there are in having a party.

I'll state a few:

-If you die and drop some items, party members can pick it up and return it to you.
-? Player vs 1 Player -- the person can only attack one person at a time...one can run while the other attacks, all the possibilites...hmmm.
-If you're getting in a pinch one of your team can stun and let you get away.

2. Got a party? Good. Fly overhead to scout for targets. Red names are probably not what you are looking for because they might just take your whole squad if you are at a low level. That is why I kinda recommend 50+ to start effective pking.

3. Have one person (preferably a good tank) start to attack the target, while you or other members act like spectators around the target. If the target thinks he can take the tank, he will attack back, in turn he is now pink (attack away). If he is not in the mood and does not attack back, he is no fun, so go find someone else. Most people attack back or run away. Most people do both, run, heal, then come back and attack.

4. Some experience. This is all head knowledge, and might or might not help you when you are actually doing PvP.

-Something wierd I have seen, and I don't think it's that good of an idea, but just to let you be prepared against stuff like this. I have seen an archer with all equipment that don't drop and bought a bow of his level (not his best of course). He literally was dark red and had a party of like 4 I think (the only item that drops is his bow). One party member would follow the archer all over the place in case he died and dropped his bow. He kept his hp rather low and the other would heal him if it got too low, and the other would assist in attacking their target. Kind of ghetto squad, but who is not going to target a red name with low hp (not knowing that all his stuff is bounded). So you kill the archer, his bow drops and you get killed by the massive damage dealer assisting the archer in killing you. You drop some stuff. Kind of lame.

-If someone is staring at you a bit too long and is slowly creeping in your direction, it is a sign. It's the sign that you are their target, so either get ready to attack first or to run first judging the guy by the weapon (people could be wearing special clothing).

Player Killing (solo style)

OK, so you don't want to take my advice and get a squad or you couldn't find one for whatever reason.

Archers:

Start by flying overhead your target as if you were going away somewhere else, and check their player info to see what stuffs they have.

Note: I won't be talking about mixed armors because I have yet to see someone who actually does that lol.

Against heavy armors, lead with thunder bolt, thunder into stun into more thunder after that. Always start with that against heavy armors because they already have low magical defense, using thunderbolt makes that EVEN lower. Then exploit that weakness with your super awesome thunder attacks and destroy them for having that weakness.

Against light armors, I would stick to starting with the thunder combo, and then stun. After that, I tend to stick with physical attacks unless thunder attacks are really taking good effect against them.

Against robes, you should be at maximum distance (well you always should to begin with). Lead with take aim (I have a level 1 take aim and it does twice the damage my normal attack does (those of you who level that skill, congrats, even more damage) and has a decent chance to crit). If you crit, GG, you probably took out 3/4 their hp right off the bat. So start with take aim (if you are undiscovered)--or deadly shot into sharptooth arrow I think (the one with the bleeding effect) into aim low (to hold them in place)--or stun. Then whatever you need to do to finish them off (normally regualr attacks are good enough). Just watch out for wield thunder or mage attacks. If you see wield thunder (trust me you will know--takes a lifetime to cast), then you might want to stun...

Mages:
Haven't used a mage before, just the others. All I have to say is GOOD LUCK with robe users and run away from Clerics as fast as you can. You should never attack a cleric unless they attack you first. No I take that back, if they attack you first, you RUN!!! I don't think it matters what armor you are wearing. If you are arcane, definitely run, if you are light you do even less damage than you do when you are in arcane, if you are heavy... O.0

Cleric:
Against heavy armors, considering that these will mostly be warriors and warebeast, I would personally kite them with "great cyclone" the tornado thing. If they get up close to you for some reason, don't run, don't put up plume shell either. Most people like to put up plume shell, but don't (unless you have maxed it) because the time it takes you to cast it will be your doom as well as it doesn't take all the damage. Only when maxed does it still not take all the damage lol, but most of it. Not to mention that it drains your mp a lot while not taking all the damage. What I recommend is sleep if you have it, if not, hurricane or whatever the one that uses one spark, if you don't have that...go level a bit more man.

Light armors, great cyclone, plume shot, over and over again. Use potions when necessary.

Robes, Plume shot over and over again. Use potions when necessary.

Venomancer:
In all of these, I don't need to mention that you should have a PvP pet. Meaning, all your pets have ripping bite right? Good. Make sure that is the first thing you do when you begin a pk. If you have a pheonix (I love them when I'm using my veno, and hate them when I'm getting pked by them), then sit back and send pet. Yay!

Heavy armor: Send your pet anyways even if it doesn't do much. All damage counts in PvP / pk. The main damage will have to come from you. You have to make sure to use all of your elemental scarabs, and spam them like crazy.

Light armor: I am going to say, fight them like you are grinding. ;)

Robes: Let your pet attack them, and run away. =D
If they decide to attack you, start crying in laughter because you run away while letting your pet kill them. If they attack your pet, run behind them. For some reason, running behind your enemy gives them some insecurity and therefore they turn around and attack you instead. Very wierd mind game, but it works 95% of the time.

PvP

Colors

Blue
The only time your name will be blue is if you are below level 30. When your name is in this color, you cannot attack or be attacked.

White
Your name becomes white the second you hit level 30. This is when your name can start to change colors. Before level 30 your name will always be blue. The chances of you dropping an item while your name is white is 1% which is a chance, an unlikely chance.

Pink / Purple
This means that you have initiated an attack on someone. You have attacked someone else, and your pink name will go away in a minute or less once you stop attacking. In this mode, you have a chance of dropping items. I believe it's a 40% chance that you won't drop anything 30% that you will drop one, 20% 2, and 10% 3. I don't have the chart, so this is all off the top of my head.

Red
This means that you have attacked AND killed at least one or two people. In this mode, judging from my experiences you have a very high chance of dropping at least one item or more. If you kill someone, I suggest you immediately go set up your player shop and do not show your face outside of a safe zone (without a replacement doll). If you need to, it's mandatory to go out with a party to cover your pking @$$.

Dark Red
If your name is this color, you hide and never show yourself ever, ok maybe in a party with Guardian Angel. OTHERWISE. You stay in town and set up your shop forever until your name is cleared. In this mode, you have a 100% chance to drop something.

What you do if you get ganked:

Dark Red
Remember what I said about being Dark Red? Hope so. If you did not take my advice..... ....... ... .. . .. .. . .. ... .. .. . .. . ......................
YOU DESERVE IT. YOU ARE DUMB.

RED
Most of the time, if you are in a group, it will dissuade pkers. Then again if they are level 100's and can take on your whole party for kicks, you are still screwed.

WHITE
If the pker has no honor and kills you because you are many levels lower than him / her. What can I say, that sucks. If it's someone around your level though (judging by how much damage the person is doing to you per hit), make sure to turn around and use your healing potions. Try stunning the person or if you are a cleric, try to sleep the pker. If your stun does good damage, I would stay and fight. If it doesn't, I would use the stun to my advantage and run away. Easy for an archer, difficult for a mage, and I think if you are putting points into winged mastery, it shouldn't be too hard for a cleric, idk for a veno (a veno does have summer sprint so you should be able to run away).
